Mexican Borders and Arizona Sunsets

We ventured into Tijuana, Mexico, to span this trip into 3 countries!

The Mexican Border.

The Marketplace.

A shot to say that we'd actually been there!

And into Arizona we went!

After a while, the landscape all seems to look the same.

A never-ending desert.

But the sky was a different story.

I was amazed at the beautiful Arizona sunset.

The San Diego Zoo

The San Diego Zoo

The Flamingos!

Did you know Hippos can stay underwater for several minutes?!

Lots of love and kisses at the Sea Lion Show!

They warn their guests time & again not to feel the animals...

...because this is the result when you do!!!

LA: The Beach & Palm Trees

Julie & Dan braving the chilly Pacific Ocean.

Any day I can do this is a good day...

In So. Cal, it is apparently appropriate to hug a palm tree!

Jul, Dan & me in our super hott hats!

San Fran in the Sunlight, The Bridge in the Fog

This is Fisherman's Wharf (clever tag, I know)

San Francisco Cable Car (over my head?)

It was difficult to see the Golden Gate Bridge from the city. The Bay shrouds it in a thick fog, but we were able to view it from the opposite side of the highway and even walked across parts of it.

I wasn't in the mood to jump that day, but had another person wanted to, they were encouraged to get over-the-phone counseling.

Independence Day in San Francisco

Driving through the beautiful Napa Valley.

In true "American" tradition, we stopped by the Oakland A's field...

...to catch a little baseball!

And, speaking of catch, Dan caught a homerun ball!

This is the Bay Bridge.

And this is what you'll get if you throw trash near it!

This may be my favorite pic of the trip so far. Apparently Derek Webb isn't the only one who sees things upside-down.

And, to close the day, fireworks over San Francisco Bay!

Crater Lake & California Redwoods

After the disappointing view of Mt. Saint Helens, all of us were hoping for a breathtaking view. Crater Lake did just that.

We made it to Northern Cali just as the sun was setting.

The Redwoods, which are surprisingly green.

When in North Cali, Hug a Redwood!

Seattle & Portland

Nothing beats a fresh cup of coffee to start off the morning!

Seattle's Famous Space Needle.

I left a piece of my heart in Portland....

Friday, June 29 - The Wedding

Regina & Josh - the happy couple

Wes & Kim, my cousins, were the "fill-in" couple for the rehearsal (the bride and groom were late). Too bad they're siblings, but then again, it is Utah...

At the reception....

Thursday, June 28

We hit the road bright and early around 4pm. Flights were delayed and we ended up on standby in Atlanta. 12 hours later we were on a plane to Denver.

Then it was 8 more hours in the car to Salt Lake City.
